Pattreiouex Set of M48 Coastwise 1939

Goodness knows how many miles would be involved if you were to go round Britain's coast with all the ins and outs, plus hundreds of islands large and small. It's diversity, from sheer cliffs to wide expanses of golden sands, was demonstrated in BBC Television's "Coast", but it comes over equally impressively in our set of the month for August, appropriately, for this is when many of you will be on holiday, Pattreiouex 1939 series of M48 Coastwise. Many of the views appear exactly as they were almost 70 years ago, including quiet West Country coves like Cadgwith and Combe Martin, or the front at Frinton, and, of course, Nelson's flagship "Victory" at Portsmouth. But where you will really notice a difference is with the fishing ports like Yarmouth and Lowestoft, then bustling with vessels, today the odd one or two. And just look at all the trams lined up at Liverpool Pierhead with a liner in the background.
