Cadet Sweets Set of 50 Dogs 1st and 2nd series 1958

Our choice for May is called simply Dogs. Issued by Cadet Sweets, it is a set of fifty cards sub-divided into a 1st Series (nos. 1 to 25) and a 2nd Series (nos. 26 to 50). Each breed is clearly defined against a white background in a coloured surround, yellow, blue or green and a white border, making a very attractive picture. The backs, printed in black, are titled and numbered. The detail of each breed is comprehensive and includes, in most cases, the approximate weight of the dog.”  Card no. 1 is the Alsatian “probably the most courageous of dogs. It’s strength, courage and intelligence, and its ability to track by both scent and eyesight, makes it suitable for a variety of purposes.”
