Meccano The Aviation Covers 2006
Meccano The Aviation Covers 2006 10 - Those of us who are of ‘a certain age’ were brought up with Meccano, but today’s youngsters have more modern distractions. In its time the Meccano model system, invented by Frank Hornby in 1902, was a huge success, as was Meccano Magazine, published from 1916 to 1981. Here we see copies of some of the covers between 1933 and 1957, each illustrating in colour an aircraft of the day, from the Bristol Bulldog and Mosquito through to the Vulcan and Hercules. Size 68 x 36mm

Solar System 2001
Solar System 2001 10 - Starting with the Sun and working outwards through the planets from Mercury to Pluto, a total of ten, which is just the right number of subjects for a Rockwell set. The fine colour pictures are backed by well informed texts such as warning us that Earth’s nearest neighbour Venus has a carbon dioxide atmosphere giving an extreme “greenhouse effect” boosting the temperature to 460°c. Size 67 x 36mm this set is also available in a larger size.
