Rockwell Railways Twopenny Tube Edwardian Sketches of The Central London Railway 2010 Twopenny Tube Edwardian Sketches of The Central London Railway 2010 L10 - The Central London Railway was the first part of what is now London Underground’s Central Line. Opened in 1900, it ran from Shepherds Bush to Bank after more than four years of construction work – mainly under existing roads to limit compensation to property owners. In this series there is a colour Edwardian sketch of the platform scene at each of the ten stations – Shepherds Bush, Holland Park, Notting Hill Gate, Queens Road (now Queensway), Marble Arch, Oxford Circus, British Museum (replaced by Holborn), Chancery Lane, Post Office (now St Pauls) and Bank.
