The set comprises of a title card plus six colour pictures showing manager Jock Stein, the semi final triumph, captain Billy McNeill, winning scorer Steve Chalmers, the victory celebration and Tommy Gemmell who scored Celtic’s first goal. Arsenal Goalscorers The Modern Era 2010 10 - “The modern era” in this context extends from the 1960s (Joe Baker and John Radford) through to 2006/7 with Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henri, ten in all shown in sepia full length action photos with excellent, very comprehensive descriptive backs full of interesting facts about each player and his career, Ian Wright, for instance, worked on a building site until his early twenties, Malcolm MacDonald was snapped up for £333,333, Frank Stapleton departed Highbury on a sour note, and Thierry Henri won the English player of the year award a record three times before departing for Barcelona. Classic Gunners (Arsenal F C) 2010 7 - Here we see sepia photographs of six Arsenal teams from 1931 League Champions through to the victorious 1989 side which under George Graham narrowly lifted the title from Liverpool. Included also are 1971 League/Cup double winners of 1971 (Charlie George looks a bit grumpy on the front row) and the 1936 F.A. Cup winners with Hapgood, Bastin and Ted Drake (who scored the winner). Good informative texts. The seventh card provides interesting facts about the club’s history and achievements. Size 67 x 36mm. (These are basically a smaller version of the set issued in 2001, but without the red border and with red captions instead of yellow).

Classic Spurs (Tottenham Hotspur F.C) 2010 7 - The Gunners north London rivals, Spurs, have many famous victories to cherish, as we discover on the back of the unnumbered ‘Cover’ card, the front of which pictures, I believe, Danny Blanchflower lifting the 1961 F.A. Cup, the year Tottenham did the League/Cup double as shown on the fourth card in this series of sepia team photographs which begin with the 1901 F.A. Cup winners and ends with the 1981 side when Ricardo Villa scored the winner in the Cup Final replay against Manchester City. Size 67 x 36mm. (These are basically a smaller version of the set issued in 2002 but with blue captions instead of yellow).

England World Cup 1966 (Programme Covers, Posters and Ticket) 2006 L6 - We all know the result from when England played West Germany in the final at Wembley to win the Jules Rimet Cup on July 30th, 1966 and the souvenir programme (price 2/6) cover is on one of the cards in this set, which also includes a copy of the “World Cup Willy” poster and other memorabilia including a ticket (South Stand £5) for the final. Flying So High West Ham United 1964-66 (2005) 10 - Two seasons in the 1960s brought glory to West Ham United. Under manager Ron Greenwood and an enviable youth system the Hammers had established themselves amongst England’s elite football clubs, culminating in their 1964 victory in the F.A. Cup, beating Preston 3-2 at Wembley, followed by a draw with Liverpool in the Charity Shield, and then, in 1965 they lifted the European Cup Winners Cup under captain Bobby Moore.
