John Wayne A Tribute to The Duke 2010
Issuer: Tribute Collectables Condition: Mint * These are original and NOT reprints Description: Tribute Collectable cards are notable particularly for the comprehensive biographies on the card backs. Here, we learn John Wayne acquired the nickname ”Duke” when as a child he was inseparable from the family’s huge Airedale “Little Duke”. After a summer job in a studio prop room he began getting small parts in low-budget Westerns, but his career really took off when he featured in John Ford’s “Stagecoach” in 1939. One starring role followed another through the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s, culminating with a Best Actor Oscar for “True Grit”. The black and white photos on these cards show him in a variety of familiar roles. Size 68 x 36mm. Number of cards in set: 10
Price for complete set: Only £5.00
