T S R Fantasy Art Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Series Edition 1st Series Nos 1 to 165 1993 Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Series Edition 1st Series Nos 1 to 165 1993 LT165 - Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy role-playing game designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson in 1974 in which players assume characters who take part in an ongoing adventure story. The advanced game was very structured and there were detailed rules which governed how the characters interacted and progressed. These cards picture objects, creatures and characters from the game and the backs give details on how they were likely to act, details of their equipment, figures for movement and armour class etc. which were invaluable if you were playing the game. The cards were produced by T.S.R. otherwise known as Tactical Studies Rules Inc. the original trading name of Gygax and Arneson and include three checklist cards. An interesting set. Size 89 x 64mm.

Wills Reprinted Series Do You Know 2nd Series 1924 C.C.S reprint 2003 Do You Know 2nd Series 1924 C.C.S reprint 2003 50 - This set originally issued in 1924 but reproduced in 2003 answers all sorts of questions such as which animals live the longest? (the giant land tortoise by the way!), why apples go brown when cut, where the world’s oldest buildings are, why a camel has a hump, why a cock is used on church weather-vanes, how flies walk upside-down etc. The colourful pictures on the front admirably illustrate the subject whilst the backs provide all the necessary explanation. Some questions make sense, such as which is the most beautiful building in the world? (the Taj Mahal in case you were wondering), but you have to wonder who would ask why the horse straightens its fore-legs first and the cow its hind-legs when rising? A fine set for any collection.. Size 68 x 36mm

Churchman Reprinted Series Eastern Proverbs 1st Series C.C.S reprint 2001 Eastern Proverbs 1st Series C.C.S reprint 2001 25 - This charming little set originally issued in 1931, but reprinted in 2001, features colourful illustrations of ancient proverbs from the East. The informative backs give us an idea of the meaning and also compares similar sayings from other countries including Britain. For instance the Indian proverb ‘Call on God, but row away from the rocks’ is compared to the Persian ‘Trust in Allah but spread not your prayer-carpet in a wet place and Cromwell’s ‘Trust in God but keep your powder dry’. The meaning of some is obvious just from the pictures and text on the front such as ‘Look at the mother before becoming engaged to the daughter’ however some are more obscure such as ‘Picking up a large stone is a sign it won’t be thrown’ or ‘Look the other way when the girl at the tea house smiles’. A lovely set size 68 x 36mm.

Universal Pictures Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art Snow White and the Huntsman 2012 Snow White and the Huntsman 2012 LT4 - We believe these are promo cards for the Universal film Snow White and the Huntsman issued prior to its world premiere at the Empire, Leicester Square, London on 14th May 2012 as the text on the back refers to a competition the winner of which would get to walk down the red carpet at the event. The up-dating of the Snow White story received mixed reviews at the time, but these cards, which we think were taken from movie posters, are lovely in their own right. These unusual and hard to come by cards, size 90 x 65mm,
