Ogdens Railways Construction of Railway Trains 1930 (C.C.S. reprint 1999) Construction of Railway Trains 1930 (C.C.S. reprint 1999) 50 - This is a fascinating set, particularly if you are a fan of steam trains. It takes you through every stage of the process of making a locomotive from the raw steel to the painting of the coaches and what a lot of manual labour was involved. You can practically feel the heat of the furnace and see the sweat of the men as they struggle to manoeuvre the heavy parts into place. The colour pictures show inside the Swindon and Derby railway works and the backs contain interesting information about the process shown. When you see how much precision and hard work went into their manufacture it is no wonder steam trains are still regarded with such affection. Size 68 x 36mm.

County Print Cricket The 13th Australian Cricket Team to England 1909 (Limited edition of 200 sets of Postcards) c1995 The 13th Australian Cricket Team to England 1909 (Limited edition of 200 sets of Postcards) c1995 EL16 - These sepia photographs picture Australian cricketers from the team that toured England in 1909. The first card is a team picture with the players all listed underneath, then the set continues with shots of the cricketers in action. The pictures benefit from the larger fomat and considering their age are rather good. The players include W. Bardsley, W.J. Whitty, V.T. Trumper, W.W. Armstrong, V.S. Ransford and C.G Macartney. The backgrounds are quite revealing as well, there are no posh stadiums here, just a green in front of the church or houses and a ramshackle shed or tent. The backs are in postcard format with a space for the stamp and address. The only information on the backs other than the address of the issuers is that the photographs were courtesy of John Hawkins. Each set is also accompanied by a Limited Edition Certificate giving its number out of 200 sets. Size 140 x 98mm.
