F.P.G (USA) Fantasy Art Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein Numbered F1 to F44 1993 Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein Numbered F1 to F44 1993 LT44 - This set is based on his wonderful artwork published in Marvel Comics in 1983 which was based on the famous Frankenstein book by Mary Shelley produced in 1831. Bernie was a well-known and much loved illustrator or both comics and horror books, but Frankenstein was in a league of its own. It took him seven years to complete the illustrations and script and he described it as a labour of love. The illustrations were given a period style, based on the original book and not subsequent films. This set by F.P.G really does do justice to the artwork. The black and white fronts illustrate the story, whilst the numbered backs show a graveyard scene with repeat mini picture on one of the stones and quotes from the artist in bright green writing. The set also includes a checklist. these are wonderfully gothic cards. Size 89 x 64mm

Futera (UK) Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art Chicken Run Stickers (Aardman Dreamworks Film) 2000 Chicken Run Stickers (Aardman Dreamworks Film) 2000 M180 - These stickers are from the brilliant Chicken Run animated film produced by Aardman (distributed in the U.S by Dreamworks), their first feature length film. It tells the story of a group of chickens led by the feisty Ginger (voiced by Julia Sawalha) as they try to escape from Tweedy’s Chicken Farm before they are turned into chicken pies. When a rooster named Rocky (voiced by Mel Gibson) crash lands in their pen they believe they have finally found a way out as he can teach them to fly over the fence. There then follow some humorous scenes as he tries to teach the chickens to fly whilst hiding the fact that he cannot fly either. Rocky falls for the clever Ginger and in the end the chickens pull together to make a plane which allows them all to escape to the safety of a deserted island. Good clean family fun that never goes out of favour as it is regularly repeated on television. Some of the colourful stickers can be assembled into blocks making up scenes from the film within an orange border, whilst others are individual pictures. The backs are numbered with company details of the issuers and distributing companies but no other information. Size 68 x 54mm.

Topps (USA) Pop Stars & Singers Duran Duran (Stickers) 1985 Duran Duran (Stickers) 1985 LT33 - Duran Duran, as I am sure you all know, were a British New Wave band formed in Birmingham in 1978 by John Taylor (bass) and Nick Rhodes (keyboard). They were joined by Roger Taylor on drums, Andy Taylor on guitar and singer Simon Le Bon although there were a few changes over the years. They started off in a nightclub, but soon achieved pop stardom, helped by their good looks and their embracing of the video/media scene. They enjoyed 14 UK Top 10 singles with such classics as ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’ and ‘Rio’. By 1985 cracks were appearing and some of the band members left and later others replaced them. The original members held a reunion in the early 2001, but never regained the heights of their earlier career and again various band members left. These stickers are from their heyday and show the stars both on and off stage. The cardboard backs make up into two 15 card pictures of the band with 3 cards showing how the puzzle should look. Size 89 x 64mm.

Sporting Profiles Sports Miscellaneous Olympic Posters Summer Games Bonus Card Beijing 2008 (2008) Olympic Posters Summer Games Bonus Card Beijing 2008 (2008) L1 - Sporting Profiles produced a set of Olympic Posters Summer Games in 2003 and now we have a bonus card from 2008 showing the medal table for the games held in Beijing that year. Needless-to-say China topped the medal table that year followed by America and Russia, but Britain made it into a very respectable fourth place with a haul of 19 gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze medals. It is hard to remember now just how significant this haul was as, this was of course eclipsed by the later London games, but at the time it was a cause for national celebration. The front shows the symbol for the Beijing games and the Olympic rings whilst the back shows the medal table from China in top position down to France in tenth place. Size 79 x 60mm
